MacKenzie Emerick

Artist Statement

Beginnings:

“I always wanted to paint what I like. Ideas come from my head. Ideas come from dreams and dreaming when I am awake. I get ideas in the morning.”

Message:

“I’m trying to tell a story through pictures. I’m trying to say to other people that I am busy working and I can’t play with them until tomorrow.”

On her art:

“I like my own work. People can touch it and look at it. I hope people see dragons, giraffes, panda bears, polar bears and the wind in my paintings.”

For people who stop to look:

“I want them to know my first name, my middle name and my last name. I want them to know that I did it, not other people. I think that they will like my paintings. I think that they will like their children to see my paintings.”

Last Thing:

“How do you like it?”
“How do you see it?”
