We are pleased to invite you to an exceptional evening dedicated to mountain photography, featuring the artist Jacques Pugin, on January 30, 2024, at 6:15 PM at the Millennium Gallery.
You will discover a selection of works from his series La Montagne Assiégée, Glaciers Offset, and La Montagne S’ombre, exploring the fragile relationship between humanity and nature through captivating visual dialogues.
The evening will begin with a lecture by Daniel Girardin, art historian and former curator of the Musée de l'Elysée:
"The Invention of the Mountain Landscape through Photography"
This talk will highlight the role of photography in the exploration of high mountains, showing how it has captured the vastness and sublime beauty of these landscapes through the lenses of science, tourism, mountaineering, and art.
The lecture will be followed by a conversation with photographer Jacques Pugin, during which he will present his unique and creative approach to photographing mountains.
The evening will conclude with a convivial cocktail, offering the opportunity to engage freely with the artist, the lecturer, and fellow art enthusiasts in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
